The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Manager to join a growing and dynamic land and property business. You will play a key role in securing planning permissions across a diverse portfolio of residential and mixed-use development sites, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to unlock value and drive projects forward.
The Role
The Planning Manager will be responsible for managing planning applications, appeals, and site promotion activities, supporting both immediate and strategic land opportunities. You will be involved in shaping planning strategies, liaising with local authorities and communities, and helping to maximise the planning potential of each site.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications and appeals across brownfield and greenfield sites.
Undertake planning appraisals and risk assessments to support site acquisition and promotion decisions.
Promote land through the Local Plan process, including preparing representations and attending Local Plan Examinations.
Monitor changes in planning policy and legislation, advising on implications and opportunities.
Engage with local authorities, consultants, landowners, and community stakeholders throughout the planning process.
Contribute to land strategy and business growth by identifying opportunities to enhance land value through planning.
Support and mentor junior team members where required.
What We're Looking For
MRTPI qualified (or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in strategic or development planning.
Strong working knowledge of UK planning policy, legislation, and procedures.
Proven ability to manage planning projects from inception to determination.
Commercial awareness and the ability to assess planning risk and opportunity.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach to project delivery.
