Quantity Surveyor – Residential Projects | Leicester | Up to £50,000 + £5K Car Allowance

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team based in Leicester, working on high-quality residential timber frame developments across the East Midlands.

We’re looking for a commercially astute and motivated individual with a background in residential construction, ideally with timber frame experience. This is an office-based role with occasional travel to site, offering the chance to be a key part of a collaborative and supportive team.
What’s on Offer:

Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE)


Car Allowance: £5,000 per annum


Bonus: Annual, dependent on company performance


Holidays: 25 days per annum + option to purchase 5 additional days

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (37.5 hours/week)


Flexible Working: Primarily office-based, with occasional remote working where needed


Location: Leicester (ideally local candidates due to daily office attendance)


Key Responsibilities:

Procurement and negotiation of subcontractor packages


Liaising with technical and construction teams to ensure tender requirements are fully understood


Conducting pre-let meetings with subcontractors


Placing orders within budget and ensuring alignment with client specifications


Managing multiple timber frame projects (typically 3–4 simultaneously) across the East Midlands


Processing fortnightly/monthly subcontractor payments


Attending site visits as required for valuations and client meetings


About You:

Previous experience as a QS within the residential housing sector


Familiarity with timber frame construction is highly desirable


Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills


Confident working independently and as part of a team


Based in or around Leicester for a manageable daily commute


Full UK driving licence
