Exciting news! An established and respected house builder with over 30 years of experience is hiring a Technical Coordinator for their East midlands region located North Leicestershire.
This house builder operates across the East, Southwest, and Central England, employing over 200 employees across four regions. The person they appoint as Technical Coordinator will be responsible for briefing, managing and driving external consultants, obtaining building control approval, discharging planning conditions and producing construction drawings to enable efficient site starts.
Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will assistant and manage a site from design stage right through to post completion, in line with the delivery programme. This will include liaising with relevant statutory and local authorities and other internal / external stakeholders as required.
As a confident and effective communicator, you will liaise with engineers, landscape designers, and sustainability consultants, coordinating information to ensure consistency across all design elements, and that buildability is considered throughout. You will also be required to attend monthly site progress meetings and brief all departments on matters relating to design and regulations.
Skills, attributes and experience;
• Qualified to HND level or higher in Design, Construction or Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical role within the house building sector
• IT literate with experience of using AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Word & Zutec
• Strong understanding of Building regulations, NHBC standards, Party wall awards, and associated construction industry legislation
• Good design skills with the ability to interpret drawings and technical demands of others
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Sound commercial acumen, articulate and calm under pressure
• Strong people skills, able to work as part of a team or in isolation and manage external working relationships
• Organised and self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of projects
