Job Summary
Support the Planning team in delivering high-quality, commercially viable designs and securing planning permissions through the preparation and submission of applications.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Development
Produce consistent, high-quality design information in line with internal standards
Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC, and statutory authority requirements
Attend key project meetings throughout the development lifecycle
Manage design programmes to meet challenging deadlines
Control project fees and budgets in line with agreed processes
Coordinate designs using standard house types and details where possible
Manage external consultants to ensure timely, coordinated delivery
Ensure schemes are commercially viable through internal collaboration
Lead and coordinate design meetings, tracking actions and progress
Liaise with planning authorities, highways, and other stakeholders
Development
Coordinate with Engineering teams to ensure designs meet adoption and approval standards
Stay up to date with regulatory and legislative changes
Planning & Community Engagement
Support community consultations and stakeholder engagement
Assist in negotiating Section 106 agreements with a commercial focus
Manage and discharge planning conditions
Contribute to house type design reviews
Take responsibility for planning and development across multiple sites
Experience & Requirements
Relevant degree qualification
Experience within housebuilding
Proven ability to manage multiple planning applications
Proficient in AutoCAD
