TH Recruit is working with a privately owned house builder to strengthen their technical team. Based in Worcestershire, the individual they identify will join the business as Assistant Engineer.
Main Function
The Trainee Engineer will support Senior Engineers with the acquisition, planning, design, management and adoption of residential development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Senior Engineers with the procurement of new development sites, liaising with utility providers regarding new supplies and diversions, as well as drainage and highway authorities and specialist consultants.
Support the coordination and review of designs produced by external consulting engineers for estate roads, sewers, foundations and, where required, structural superstructure components.
Obtain service quotations for new developments and liaise with the Commercial team to place orders with preferred contractors.
Work with the Technical team to support the discharge of planning conditions and building regulation requirements.
Assist in progressing the adoption of roads and sewers.
Collaborate with Commercial and Production teams to help resolve on-site issues, including contractor performance and liaison with inspectors from highways and water authorities.
Help maintain up-to-date drawing records and ensure site teams receive the latest information.
Key Skills & Capabilities
Ability to plan, organise and monitor tasks effectively.
Basic understanding of the construction process and working drawings in line with Building Regulations and NHBC standards.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with good IT proficiency.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Positive, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and progress.
