Architectural Technician / Technologist

Reporting to: Project Lead / Associate / Partner

About the Role

We are looking for an Architectural Technician or Technologist to join a collaborative and design-focused practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is keen to develop their technical expertise while gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle across a diverse range of commissions.

Working closely with Project Leads and senior team members, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of projects, supporting design development, project coordination, and contract administration activities. The role offers broad experience across technical design, BIM, project management, client liaison, and site-based activities, making it ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within a progressive architectural practice.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery
Prepare technical drawings, details, specifications, and project information using Revit and AutoCAD.
Support the production of planning, building regulations, and construction information packages.
Carry out measured building surveys and prepare accurate survey drawings.
Assist with technical design development and detailing across a variety of project sectors.
Maintain project records, drawing registers, and document control systems.
Project Coordination
Coordinate information between design team members, consultants, contractors, and clients.
Attend and document design team meetings, site meetings, and project workshops.
Assist with planning and building regulations submissions, liaising with local authorities where required.
Support the administration of projects and develop an understanding of contractual processes and project delivery.
Studio & Team Contribution
Collaborate with colleagues across the practice to deliver successful project outcomes.
Participate in weekly studio meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and design reviews.
Assist with office-wide initiatives including BIM, IT, CPD, quality assurance, and technical development.
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and contribute to a positive team culture.
About You

You will be a motivated and organised individual with a passion for technical design and construction, capable of working both independently and as part of a wider project team.

Preferred Qualifications
HNC, HND, Degree in Architectural Technology, or a related construction discipline.
Skills & Experience
Experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office 365.
Knowledge of UK construction methods, Building Regulations, and technical detailing.
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to liaise professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
Experience with NBS Chorus would be advantageous.
